Wednesday night was Book Club night for me....ahhhhh...a night out with the girls, talking about books, sharing some snacks and lots of laughter. M got home in time for dinner, and then decided to give the kids a bath - not a real bath where they got clean, but a fun bath (they'd all been given the "get clean" bath that morning). Now, when we bought this house, there were a few things I insisted on....one of them was a jacuzzi tub, deep enough to really soak in...a retreat of sorts for me. We've lived in our house for nearly five years. My kids have made much more use of my "retreat" than I have. So "my" bathtub is no longer really mine. It does have the candles all around it, and the neck pillow for when I am soaking, but it is also surrounded by the kids' towels, toys, soaps and shampoos. And M insists on using it as a stand for his dirty clothes (in spite of the fact that the hamper is right behind his vanity in the bathroom....sigh.....). So here is my retreat, overtaken by others. It's definitely NOT a relaxing place for this mom, most of the time.
